Somebody’s Girl follows a little girl’s desire to be loved, through the heartaches of romance to the discovery that, unbeknownst to her, gentle white gloved hands had been guiding her all along. From the foggy mysteriousness of Zubenelgenubi, to a sensitive rendition of I Don’t Know How to Love Him, to my granddaughter singing Bobby Shaftoe, this project represents 7 years of pre-production work in a small Oregon basement studio, often with rain pounding and wind howling above, to its completion at TMC Studios in Nashville.

Self-produced, this collection of recorded songs deserved attention, despite their having not fit into concepts for previous CD’s. Some midi-produced and earth -movingly theatrical, some heartfelt, like Hold On, inspired by a devastating earthquake in Turkey. On a whim at the end of a session, I recorded When You Wish Upon a Star. In a songwriter’s life, some songs land fully mature, others as mere whispers. Hesitant and vulnerable, these songs are some of my favorites.

Celebrate Christmas with me and 11 original songs! You’ll meet a snarky elf complaining about his former corporate life, a little girl’s plea for Santa to please not forget her and a poignant description of my first sleigh ride across frozen fields of glistening Central Oregon snow. Inspired by Sunriver Resort’s Christmas Traditions, these songs premiered in a theatrical concert at the Sunriver Music Festival Fireside Concert Series and were recorded at Inlight Records, Nashville.
